Follow these simple steps to enjoy a delicious and easy smelt recipe
Grab a pair of scissors and cut the head off.
Cut up the belly and remove guts.
Run under cool water and rinse thoroughly.
Pat dry on paper towel and then lightly salt. Dredge in your favorite dry or wet batter.
Here is Meat Head Seasonings lemon pepper.
Set oil to 300 degrees and cook for roughly 5 min. Turn back and forth until golden brown.
Eat the smelt whole. Yup the scales, bones, fins and all. It will be crunchy with the texture of a crispy French fry.
